Lansing, MI - The leader of an armed protest against Michigan’s stay-at-home order has expressed concerns that the restrictions may lead to a breakdown of law and order.

Hank Woodson, leader of local militia group, The Michigan Patriots, organized the protest outside Michigan’s state capitol in response to an executive stay-at-home order from Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

“Sure, staying home might stop a few people getting sick, but if everyone is out of work, it won’t be long until people start resorting to violence,” Woodson told the NY Prophet as he cleaned his AR-15 rifle at the protest on Monday morning.

“I’m scared for the safety of my kids,” said Ashlee Whiteneck, another protester. “We have plenty of guns in the house, but if society breaks down we can only fend off so many home invaders.”

While the protesters were all united by their opposition to the executive order, many of them had differing beliefs about why it was issued.

“It’s just like one of their damn finger traps,” said one protester, who believed the virus was intentionally released by China to destroy the US economy.  Another protester didn’t think there was a virus.

“I think it’s another government conspiracy for more control, like 9/11 or vaccinations.”

Woodson indicated that his group plans to continue their protest until the government withdraws the order, but admitted it was hard to see an end in sight.

“What gets to me is they’ve shut down the gun shops because they’re ‘non-essential’,” said an angry Woodson. “If they aren’t essential now, when are they?”
