Joe Biden Literally Puts Foot in Mouth at Iowa Campaign Event
A strange stunt left spectators shocked at a campaign event for former Vice-President Joe Biden earlier today in Iowa.
The former Vice-President went to new lengths to impress members of the Democratic Party’s Iowa caucus, as he lifted his left foot and slowly inserted it into his mouth halfway through a speech he made today outside an ethanol plant in Des Moines.
Several times throughout his career, Mr. Biden, 76, has apologized for poorly-worded remarks.
Just prior to the stunt, Mr. Biden laughed about his gaffe-prone reputation before lifting his foot and opening his mouth suggestively. When the crowd cheered him on, the former Vice-President slowly inserted his foot into his mouth.
Mysteriously, no photos were captured of the moment, however multiple witnesses have come forward to describe the move.
“He made it as far as his ankle,” an onlooker told the New York Prophet, while another said, “He barely made it to the heel.”
Elsewhere in Iowa, another political rally was being held by President Trump, who at one point also attempted to insert his foot into his mouth, in an attempt to mock the former Vice-President.
While it is unclear if President Trump knew that earlier in the day the former Vice-President had successfully done the same thing, critics of the President are calling the stunt a backfire. While Mr. Trump was unable to lift his foot high enough to enter his mouth, Mr. Biden reportedly pulled off the maneuver with ease.
As the 2020 President Election draws closer, stunts like these are likely to become more and more common, with President Trump and the slew of contenders for the Democratic candidacy doing what they can to capture the attention of a fast-moving media and a disengaged electorate. Only time will tell how many feet will enter mouths in the coming months.
